COLOMBIAN-CUBAN INTERSECTION

‘Intersección Colombo-Cubana’ or ‘Colombian-Cuban intersection’, a project where I explore not only my roots and where I came from but also the difference in photographic styles, esthetic, tones, customs, and culture between my two countries and families in a close or similar period of time and also their similarities combining them in almost the same scene knowing that somewhere along the way, in some way, they were actually connected and became each other realities thanks to my parents.

Perceiving photographs as doorways onto situations that extend beyond the edges of the frame. I wanted to take advantage of this by taking 2 pictures with similar situations, each one of one country, and putting them together in a way that suggests that is the same scene but also seeing them individually, allowing a new perspective of time and space and chronicling my individual life and the passage of time not only in my family but in the esthetic of the photographic printing of two countries.
